A Year in My Life

“Something happening here, it ain’t exactly clear…”

I am truly amazed and stunned by the events of this past year!  There were very high moments contrasted by the terribly tragic ones…certainly nothing I ever saw coming.  Therefore, to my best effort I am telling the story of why my posts have been sporadic and certainly not deeply inspirational.  Life is unpredictable at best.

Last May/June 2017 I went on the dream trip of a lifetime; to Israel, Jordan, and surrounding Holy Land sites.  It was a deep longing in my heart for 40+ years.  There is no way to relate how absolutely fabulous that journey was: the people, the history, God’s Presence, the majesty and wonder, the food, the friends I made, the shopping, and the encounters that wrapped me in ecstatic bliss while I were there. Then I took my first trip to the Emergency Room in Jerusalem to deal with the AFib attack on my heart, with lots of prayer I was released in only a few hours.  This was the first of many attacks and fierce battles that began my year.

Arriving home, my husband and I joyfully went to a Christian Conference in Southern California in mid-June.  While there I fell off 4 steps to the ground twisting and severely bruising my knees and feet, tearing the meniscus in my right knee.  Another trip to the ER and about two months of elevating my knee for swelling and pain.

During that time I had three more visits to the ER with more AFib problems and two cardioversions, where they stop your heart then use the paddles on your chest to electrically restart your heart.  “CLEAR!”  They had no idea why this was happening since my heart was strong and healthy.  The battle was growing more fierce though through all of that I knew God was with me.

My daughter and I took a road trip to Texas in August, to visit family and go to another conference (we have such hunger in our hearts to see the Lord moving, we will sacrifice all to seek out what He is doing in other places).  My car broke down in the middle of the desert on a 104 degree day…warfare, but we saw God’s hand in every situation.

When we got back home, really all I could do was journal…

take classes, get more involved with people (my favorite thing), join groups in the church, and just live in the grace.

October 9, 2017  The wildfires plundered Sonoma County, burning everything in its path.  Our entire neighborhood burned to the ground. So unimaginably tragic!  The fire stopped 200 yards from our house, but everything else was gone…total miracle.

This is our neighborhood.  Everyone was effected and traumatized, and still coping with the loss of everything.

There is tons of stories I could retell and they would prove God is real.

Two weeks ago I had surgery on my foot to repair some bone and cartilage  degeneration, finding I also had a broken bone, which caused pain for a very long time,  I am now in a cast for 3 months.

In closing, throughout all of the ordeals and seemingly harsh circumstances, I have remained strong, by God’s grace.  I can truly say, “God is good, He is always good.”  He has never left me strengthening me every day.  My love for Him as grown more deeply because of the trust and faith in His ability to be faithful to my heart.  I am looking forward to the future that will bring new adventures, new dreams, and new resources to our lives. Now I have more time to blog, create and paint…endless amounts of hours to bless you my friends!

PS- New changes are coming!

Happy Easter!

He is Risen!

Easter should be the greatest holiday.  It is the day that Jesus paid it all and overcame death and the power of the evil one, forever and ever! His love for us gave us new life and access to our Father.  There is no better gift than His gift of eternal life.

“He swallowed up death in victory; the Lord God will wipe away tears from all their faces; he will take the reproach from his people and the earth, for the Lord has spoken it!”  Isaiah 25: 8

Easter Connection

My first job was being the Easter bunny during Easter break; working for a department store in Honolulu.  You can imagine how hot it was in that costume in the tropical heat.  I made good money for a seven year old though.  My older sister played the bigger bunny.  It was so much fun…I even got to ride with the governor of Hawaii on the back of the limousine for the Easter parade.

My Easter Decor

The handmade wooden eggs that I decorated so many years ago…an Easter tradition.

Have a wonderful time celebrating new life with your family and friends!

Easter blessings to you!

Prophetic Word

Prophetic Word for March

I’m feeling the impression to bring a word of hope today, inspired for this season.  Maybe it will encourage you.

All these years the Lord has been depositing seeds into your spirit, from promises, from encounters, and people speaking into your life. They have been dormant for a while, perhaps a very long time. Perhaps you have forgotten or thought with discouragement that those promises would never come to pass, or you have begun to give up, that you have just been forgotten. Remember God’s promises are “YES” and “AMEN”!  Even if you don’t feel or know any specific promise or word given to you, begin to claim what God has promised in His word.  There are so many promises in the Bible regarding health, provision, children, etc.  His  word abides forever, there is no expiration date!

Those promised and inspired words need to be watered with prayer,  believing God for them to take root, and an unwavering knowing that He loves you and always keeps His promises. Watering will bring them to life, even after decades of being dormant.  Those promises will begin to sprout.  This is the day that those seedling will begin to come forth bursting from the ground of your spirit, fulfilled in a way that you can not even imagine.  The  provision for those promises are from God’s own hand.  The soil that those seeds were deposited into is now fertile and crafted to give nourishment to what is to come. They will begin to bring forth fruit, bearing abundance not only for you but the world around you. Now is the time! Now is the time! Now is the time!  Water!

Seeking God

Seek the Lord First

The Heavens are open to hear your prayers.  The Lord desires your heart and is waiting for you to draw near to Him. Unimaginable resource is available to you right now to answer the desires of your heart.  There is no question that God is calling you into an encounter with Him.  Are you willing?  Do you desire something new in your life?  Are you needing answers to impossible situations and relationships?  Are you desperate for the provision from Heaven to abundantly supply your financial needs?  There is only one tangible answer to all of these questions…Seek first the Kingdom of God!

You say that’s too simple.  I say it’s the only way.  I have always thought that I was following after God and all His righteousness, though in recent days His Presence had faded and His voice not as clear.  I imagined I was right with God, His grace had seen me through some difficult times, and I never stopped loving Him…but I knew my passion and my life with Him was not what it used to be.

So I made a decision to stop everything I was doing and began to seek Him first.  Everything is a step of faith and I didn’t feel much different at first, but as I continued to read more of the Word, find time to sit at His feet, and to spend time worshiping Him, He began to draw closer to me.  I had to still press in.  His voice in my spirit was clearer and His presence was tangible.  Then things began to change.  Noticibly my blogs which had 10-12 new followers a week jumped to 1,900 in two weeks!  My desire to meet and make new friends exploded exponentially, I was even able to join a community of believers that I’d prayed for 20 years to be part of.  My thinking became clearer with new ideas and creative thoughts, even opening my imagination to new ways of seeing things. I have new strength and vitality.  All aspects of my life are changing; body, soul, and spirit.  It is so amazing!  God does give you all when you seek Him.

Try believing the Lord at His Word, seek Him with all your heart!  Believe!

Friends

Thank You God for My Friends

Have you ever wondered about this scripture?  Why would the Lord put such high value on teaching about greater love and laying down your life, especially for your friends?  Could it be that we may learn the most important lessons in this life because our friends come in such varieties, and they are not the familiarity of family.  Not one of Jesus’ twelve disciples was a close family member* and all of the twelve were so diverse and so different in personality, life backgrounds, strengths and weaknesses.  Could there ever be a more motley crew?  Lazarus, Mary and Martha were very close friends to Jesus, He wept when Lazarus died.

Friends are so important to our lives, they walk with us through hardships and heartbreak, through great rejoicing and successes. They are a deep necessity in faithfulness, encouragement, unconditional love, and loyalty, they are the ones we cherish and love with deep roots of commitment.  We  need friends to walk beside us, sometimes holding our hand through this journey. Sometimes friends fall into our lives, some we meet through mutual interests, and then there the ones that God sends our way specifically.

One day while spending time with the Lord and feeling separated from those closest to me; I began to pray.  I prayed for a new friend that would be loyal and always there for me, who would never be too busy to not want to spend life together.  God answered me in two days.  You know the Lord has a sense of humor, right? He divinely smiles when He chooses the answers to our prayers.  Well, He sent Janice into my life; she was one wild child, passionately in love with Jesus, though a little rough around the edges – a diamond in the rough.  I knew instantly she was the one.  (God is still smiling), Janice was not what I expected at all.  She was a recovering 35-year drug addict, stripper, and male companion – things I couldn’t even relate to, but there is a fire for knowing God in her heart.  Our commonality was Jesus.  She has the most loving heart, a deep desire for learning more of the kingdom, faithful, full of joy, willing to do whatever God asks of her, a prayer warrior, and always there for me. The Lord showed me how much Janice is greatly loved by Him and my heart changed knowing that.  I have never known anyone like her and I know that she will be a life time friend.  Don’t judge by outward appearance, God looks on the heart, and He knows you better than yourself.  So if He picks a friend for you, they will be perfect.

We need the companionship of a friend, if not many. We are not an island, but a community of believers who do life together.  If you need friends, just ask the Father to send you the perfect people who will fill your life with fellowship and love. Of course, Jesus is the One who sticks closer than any brother or personal friend, who will never leave you or forsake you, who is with you always.  You need both!

If you want to read an excellent book on friendship, that is so clear and thoughtful, read, The Power of a  Positive Friend, by Karol Ladd and Terry Ann Kelly. Available on Amazon Kindle.

Here are some friend quotes:

We can never replace a friend.  When a man is fortunate enough to have several, he finds they are all different.  No one has a double in friendship.  -Friedrich von Schiller

A true friend is the gift of God, and He only who made hearts can unite them. -Robert South

I have learned that to have a good friend is the purest of all God’s gifts, for it is a love that has no exchange of payments. -Frances Farmer

He who is true to one friend thus proves himself worthy of many. -Anonymous

Dear Lord, my friends have been to me,  Interpreters of love divine,  And in their kindness I have seen, Thine everlasting mercy shine… -Martha Shell Nicholson

A friend is a person with whom I may be sincere. Before him, I may think aloud. -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Consider these scriptures:

♥  “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:  If one falls down, his friend can help him up.  But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!” -Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

♥  “No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.” -John 15:15

♥  “You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.” – John 15:14

♥  “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” – Proverbs 17:17
